Hunter Valley Wedding- Bec & Tim

Bec & Tim organized their entire wedding from London,not seeing their venue or meeting with vendors until the week before! It takes a great leap of faith to do that! I don't think they disappointed with anything except the threatening weather,which although freezing cold,did not rain! Tanya and Deena from www.chicartistry.com.au did an amazing job with hair and make up,the girls looked stunning. The wedding was at Wandin Valley Estate in the Hunter Valley in the gorgeous 1930's style Ruby Pavillion. Bec's amazing dress was made of delicate layers of cream French Chantilly lace all the way from Paris, and the boys were very smart and handsome in navy suits.

A few weeks ago I was invited to show at the open day of a local venue at Copacabana. The property is called "Sea Farm". It's a sprawling acreage looking out to sea with the most stunning house to stay and hold your event in! Hunter Valley Wedding Photography-Catherine & Phil

Catherine and Phil were married at the Sebel Kirkton Park in the beautiful Hunter Valley. What a gorgeous venue with stunning rooms to get ready in, picturesque grounds for the ceremony, and although there are plenty of great spots for photo opportunities, we decided to go to one of my favourite places for the bridal party shoot, Hanging Tree Winery. What a sunset! Then back to the Sebel for an elegant black & white themed reception. Catherine made a stunning bride in a custom made lace gown by Caritas Yu and I just loved the classic bridesmaid's dresses in black with vintage cream lace and ribbon detail! Catherine's mum made the amazing cake-yay Mum!

Oh what a bad, bad blogger I am! It's been quite a while...

So let's get back to blogging! I wanted to show you some images from Jane and James' fabulous wedding held in March at Holy Cross Church, Kincumber and The Bells Killcare
Jane's father has a peacock farm and the stunning plumes were used throughout as a theme and for decoration in both the church and the reception. Jane's beautiful gown was by Pronovius from Marry Me Bridal in Mosman, and the shoes...oh the shoes!! Look through my photos and you'll notice I have a bit of a shoe/foot fetish(only in photos!), so when I laid eyes on a shimmering pair of soft gold Louboutin heels my heart was racing! Tanya from Chic Artistry did a fantastic job getting the girls all glammed up with hair and make-up. After the sumptuous lunchtime soiree at the Bells, we headed down to Avoca Beach for a photo shoot. A big thanks to the talented Lee Hulsman for shooting this one with me :)

Port Stephens Wedding-Fingal Bay NSW, Karen & Brett

March,glorious March! I love March/April weddings because the light is so beautiful! Karen and Brett were married on a beautiful Autumn day in Fingal Bay,Port Stephens. They held their reception at the Nelson Bay Golf Club, after their original venue burnt to the ground! The ceremony was held at Barry Park overlooking the bay,what a beautiful backdrop, and all those spectacular Red Gums!

Bek & Tim's Wedding-Hunter Valley NSW

I've been doing this long enough to know what kind of wedding it's going to be within minutes of walking into the bride's house. I hadn't been at Bek's for more than 5 minutes and we had champagne corks popped,bridesmaids breaking down in tears of joy and laughter rolling through the house-this was going to be a cracker! We had such a fun day with these guys, what a great bunch of people they chose for their bridal party! We were welcomed and treated like guests and friends from beginning to end. There was so much love in the air it was hard not to get caught up in it-I admit it, I got teary in the Chapel! Grant earnt himself the nickname of "the sniper" by shooting from the bushes-I may just get him a camo hat! By sunset we had the most glorious light my heart was pounding with excitement-you know there's something special in your camera :)

Bek & Jay-Love shoot/Family Portrait

Bek booked me for her wedding straight after I shot her sister Belinda's wedding last year-good thing she got in early as I have had over a dozen inquiries for the same date so far! The 10/10/10 is going to be a busy day for weddings!! Bek & Jay live in the country near Tamworth and bought their gorgeous wee boys with them for their pre-wedding shoot.

STYLED-Couture Bridal Runway Show,Newcastle

Last Saturday on I think the hottest,muggiest and most humid day I have ever experienced, I joined the team at WHITE Magazine to photograph STYLED, their first couture fashion show to raise the profile of our region's very talented designers! We were all melting in the heat and I don't know how the models didn't faint in their corseted creations! I LOVED that everyone who attended was frocked to the nines and looking red carpet ready! The last shot is Sylvia Lee who won Designer of the Year with her extremely proud Mum :) Here's some of my faves from the night...

Melanie & Simon's Wedding-Tallavera Grove,Hunter Valley

First wedding of 2010 and what a great one it was! The weather was perfect, the venue was stunning, and there was so much love in the air you could taste it! I also got to use my brand new baby,the Canon 5D mkII :) Love it! Weddings are always a happy occasion, but I have to say there was so much joy at this one, wherever you looked there were smiles and laughter. Melanie and Simon had already started a new family with their gorgeous little baby Chiara, so this was a big day to make it all official! Congratulations guys, you make me love my job even more!

Family Portraits Xmas Eve

What better thing to do on Xmas Eve than shoot a couple of family portraits?! Ok, so one of them was my brother's family(merry xmas Mum & Dad!), and the other was their friends who took advantage of me being down in their neck of the woods. I got some gorgeous shots of my nephew who was a right little poser and never leaves home without a ball(you'd never guess his parents are both soccer nuts!).
